Connie McGowen Tournament Update

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Is winter ever going to end and the snow stop falling? For those of us who snow plow it

has been great. But enough is enough and this is getting old. I know, I know, stop the whining,

but I am ready for the lake. For those of us who put our boats in, in early April that is just a

month away.

All this brings me to the fact that lake tournaments are not that far away. The river tournaments

are over. The trip swap is on May 3rd and 4th. The Spring Big Lake Tourney is May

17th and on May 31st is the Connie McGowan over on Lake Erie. I will be sending the signup

sheet for this tourney at next month’s meeting, March, and again at April’s. So signup early.

For those of you who haven’t had the liberty of going to Lake Erie for walleye, last year

was my first time. I had an awesome time, from catching daily limits to the dinner Friday

night. Huge hamburgers and hotdogs, with all the fixin’s you could imagine. Fishing the tournament

itself, the hours of tailgating and all the stories, and “BS-ing”. Now that is camaraderie!

To the 1 – ¼ inch steaks with all the fixin’s, more than enough food to fill you up, and if

you were still hungry that was your own fault.

So for those of you that have not joined us it is worth it. The cost is $50.00 which covers

your entry fee for the tournament, hall rental, and boat slip, if you want one, and dinner

both Friday and Saturday. All of this is provided by our gracious host, the Detroit Boat and

Beach Club. So please take advantage of this wonderful experience and sign up.

FISH ON!!!
